The original Manor House was built in 1660 and took the form of a three bay Jacobean Manor. It wasn’t until 1828 when the Estate was purchased by Sir Joseph Neeld, a London solicitor that many of the changes started to evolve. Sir Joseph was fortunate enough to inherit a large fortune from his silversmith uncle, which enabled him to redesign the house to represent that which you still see today.
